The House

When we bought our little house, we knew we wanted to make some changes. First, we had to have wood floors. Second, the kitchen needed to be opened up. Beyond that, the list goes on but these were the two major pieces we could tackle immediately.

Here is what the kitchen and dining area looked like:

The cabinets were quality built but dated without the modern storage accessories like pull-out cabinet shelves and soft-close drawers. Everything was original from 1986. The lighting was especially unbearable.

While the carpet was new, we really wanted to go with wood floors so that’s where the demolition began. The mudroom (to the left of the refrigerator), and the entire kitchen were completely gutted to make way for the new, welcoming cooking and dining space.
